2025/08 update: within the last year there was an update and now the game periodically disconnected from game server and reboots the app. it happens enough that I've had to lower the rating. the game remains one of the best games I've played, with no ads at all and lots of updates but the disconnections are very frustrating. original review: This game is fantastic! No ads at all! Hooray!

On the one hand, this game is interesting, got a few rotating events, general challenges, things to do all the time. On the other, everything is expensive, both in-game (gold, gems) and out of game (actual money). After a while, you hit a wall with advancement where you have to earn a ridiculous amount of gold to move to the next level. Even with a guild - essential to progress at all - the cost to increase worker levels gets prohibitive very quickly.

This game started out fun, but then they started trying to get you to spend money on some of the shops. About half of them are locked behind pay walls, and you can't use them unless you buy each one separately. And I think they range anywhere from $10 to $20 a person! And we are talking real cash here. Now, if there was a way to get them without spending real money, I would give this I higher rating. But with half the workers behind a pay wall, and I only have 9 avaliable that I can use...
