I bow hunt whitetails on public land and this app has really elevated my scouting and hunting. The satellite images are good on their own but the LiDAR mapping feature puts Spartan Forge way ahead of any other mapping app. LiDAR combined with the slope angle function allows you to see very subtle changes in terrain which a lot of times is where I’m finding mature buck bedding and their core areas. Using this function really makes the subtle benches and depressions in the terrain pop which I would have never found e-scouting with a basic satellite image. LiDAR also allows you to be able to predict thermal activity very well. The deer movement prediction feature is also spot on from what I’ve seen. Last year during the beginning of pre rut the Spartan forge app was showing full range/very abnormal movement in mid October where I would have expected them to still be sticking closer to their core areas but sure enough I saw a bunch of deer up and moving that day and ended up shooting my PA buck.

This app has come a long way over the years. I now use it exclusively because the maps in my opinion are the best and the company updates the app on a regular basis. This app does mapping, private land info, and public land boundaries. However, there is one thing that this app has that the others don’t, a journal. The journal is worth its weight in gold. When you’re sitting in your tree stand and write a journal entry it automatically puts the date, whether data and exact location you were. You can also add a photo. I trust this app for all of my hunting, and it has now become my favorite hunting app in the store

This app is now my go to anytime I’m heading into the woods or thinking about heading into the woods. The new lidar feature takes escouting to the next level! There’s always new features being added to the app that make it better with every update. The app is less than half the price of competitors for the subscription but that doesn’t mean that it is half the features! Another thing is the founder of the app Bill is very easy to get ahold of if there ever is a problem with the app. You can easily reach out to him on social media and he will get you squared away. Hard to beat that kind of customer service!
